About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring an Academic Counsellor to guide learners towards courses that fit their goals and help them enrol with confidence. The role blends honest counselling with consultative selling, so listening matters as much as persuading.
What you'll do
- Speak with prospective learners and parents to understand their academic background and goals.
- Recommend suitable courses or programmes and explain outcomes, structure and fees clearly.
- Answer concerns honestly and help learners compare options without pressure.
- Follow up with interested learners through calls and messages until they decide.
- Guide new learners through admission formalities and documentation once they have chosen a course.
- Maintain counselling notes and enquiry status accurately for each learner.
What you'll bring
- 0–4 years of experience in academic counselling, education sales or a customer-facing role; freshers may apply.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline; relevant experience may be considered for some assignments.
- Excellent spoken communication and the patience to listen actively.
- A consultative, ethical approach to selling that puts the learner's interest first.
- Consistent follow-up and good relationship management over several conversations.
Good to have
- Exposure to counselling learners for education or EdTech courses.
- Familiarity with CRM tools for lead management and follow-up reminders.
- Prior experience in the education and student services sector.
