About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring an Associate Director – Academic Partnerships to set the strategy for building and sustaining partnerships with academic institutions. You will define partnership priorities, guide the team and manage relationships with senior academic stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Define the academic partnerships strategy, including target institutions and partnership models.
- Negotiate partnership agreements with university and college leadership.
- Build long-term relationships with vice-chancellors, deans and senior administrators.
- Develop the partnerships team, setting goals and reviewing pipeline progress.
- Coordinate with academic, legal and operations teams to deliver partnership commitments.
- Review partnership performance and present outcomes and plans to senior leadership.
- Represent the business at academic forums and sector events where new partnerships begin.
What you'll bring
- 10–14 years of experience in business development or partnerships within education, with team leadership.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- A strong network among academic institutions and their leadership.
- Proven stakeholder management at senior levels inside and outside the organisation.
- Experience structuring and negotiating formal agreements with academic institutions.
Good to have
- Exposure to international academic collaborations and joint programmes.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements that govern academic partnerships.
- Prior experience in the education sector at a senior level.
