About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring an Associate Director – Retail to steer trading results across the store business at a senior level. You will decide where the stores should focus, grow the next layer of leaders, while keeping shoppers at the centre of every plan. The role works with peers in other functions to shape how the business performs.
What you'll do
- Turn business goals into trading priorities that each store manager can act on.
- Hold senior managers accountable through structured reviews of their results.
- Study margin, productivity or sales trends, driving corrective plans where results lag.
- Raise the shopping experience through clear service expectations backed by regular audits.
- Build leadership depth through coaching, succession planning or talent reviews.
- Partner with merchandising, marketing or finance heads on initiatives that affect stores.
What you'll bring
- 10–15 years of experience in retail operations and sales management, including senior leadership.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- A record of improving trading results across multiple stores.
- Strong people leadership with a firm grip on performance management.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders in other functions.
Good to have
- Experience in businesses that run several store formats or categories.
- Exposure to business transformation or store expansion initiatives at scale.
