About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Commercial Planning Manager in the FMCG and retail sector. You will own forecasting and pricing inputs to the business plan, so that sales, supply and finance all work from the same numbers.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain sales forecasts by channel, category and period.
- Analyse pricing scenarios and recommend price moves with their expected effect on volume and margin.
- Own the commercial input to annual and quarterly business planning.
- Track actuals against plan and explain variances to stakeholders clearly.
- Develop the planning team, raising the quality and speed of their analysis.
- Work with key account and sales teams to align plans with trade realities.
- Maintain the assumptions log behind each forecast so changes can be explained later.
What you'll bring
- 7–11 years of experience in commercial planning, forecasting or revenue management.
- An MBA or PGDM, with strong quantitative grounding from your studies or work.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills applied to pricing and forecasting questions.
- Experience presenting plans and trade-offs to senior stakeholders with confidence.
- Team management experience, including setting priorities and reviewing the work of analysts.
Good to have
- Prior experience in the FMCG / Retail sector within a commercial or finance team.
- Exposure to sales and operations planning processes that link demand and supply.
- Familiarity with price-pack architecture and how it shapes consumer choice.
