About the role

HappinessCue is inviting independent career coaches to join its expert network. People at a crossroads in their working lives book sessions on HappinessCue to think through choices with an experienced coach, and the HappinessCue team reviews CareerBricks applications before inviting suitable coaches to register on HappinessCue. This is an independent engagement, not employment.

What you'll do

  • Hold coaching sessions with people who book you about choosing, changing or restarting a career.
  • Use structured conversations and reflective exercises to help clients clarify interests, strengths and values.
  • Help clients map realistic options, including further study, a change of role or a move into a new industry.
  • Turn broad ambitions into a short action plan with steps the client chooses and owns.
  • Ask the questions that surface assumptions, and challenge them respectfully when they hold someone back.
  • Follow up on agreed actions in repeat sessions and adjust the plan as circumstances change.
  • This is guidance, mentoring or coaching. It does not include diagnosis or treatment.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrable experience as a career coach, career counsellor or careers adviser working with individuals.
  • A sound grasp of how hiring, job markets and career paths work across several sectors.
  • Coaching skills grounded in listening well, asking good questions and keeping the client in charge.
  • Professional boundaries, including recognising when a concern belongs with a different kind of expert.
  • Readiness to complete onboarding and verification with HappinessCue. Engagement terms are shared during onboarding.

Good to have

  • A recognised coaching credential or formal training in career development.
  • Experience with career transitions for mid-career professionals or people returning after a break.
  • Familiarity with interest and aptitude inventories used in career planning.
