About the role

HappinessCue is inviting independent entrepreneurship and freelancing mentors to join its expert network. People starting a venture or going independent book sessions on HappinessCue for grounded advice from someone who has done it, and the HappinessCue team reviews applications submitted on CareerBricks before inviting suitable mentors to register on HappinessCue. This is an independent engagement, not employment.

What you'll do

  • Help aspiring founders test whether an idea solves a real problem before they commit time and savings.
  • Walk new freelancers through finding first clients, scoping work and setting clear written agreements.
  • Discuss pricing approaches, cash flow and basic financial discipline for a small or solo business.
  • Review business plans, pitches and service offerings, giving specific and practical feedback.
  • Share lessons from your own ventures, including what did not work and why.
  • Help mentees settle priorities for the coming weeks and hold them to account in follow-up sessions.
  • This is guidance, mentoring or coaching. It does not include diagnosis or treatment.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrable experience as an entrepreneur, founder, established freelancer or small-business mentor.
  • Practical knowledge of the early stages of building a business or an independent practice.
  • A candid, realistic mentoring style that neither discourages ambition nor overpromises success.
  • Awareness of where your expertise ends, referring legal, tax or regulatory questions to qualified professionals.
  • Willingness to go through onboarding and verification with HappinessCue. Engagement terms are shared during onboarding.

Good to have

  • Experience with startup incubators, accelerators or campus entrepreneurship cells.
  • Familiarity with the marketplaces and professional networks freelancers use to find work.
  • A background in mentoring first-generation entrepreneurs.
