About the role

HappinessCue is inviting independent industry mentors to join its expert network. Students and early-career professionals book sessions on HappinessCue to learn how a field really works from someone who has built a career inside it, and applications made on CareerBricks are reviewed by the HappinessCue team, which invites suitable mentors to register on HappinessCue. This is an independent engagement, not employment.

What you'll do

  • Share an honest, practical picture of your industry, its roles and how people progress within it.
  • Answer mentees' questions about daily work, expectations and the skills employers in your field value.
  • Help mentees judge whether a particular function or specialisation suits their interests and strengths.
  • Point mentees towards projects, courses or experience that would make them credible applicants.
  • Offer perspective on workplace situations a mentee is facing, drawing on your own professional history.
  • Hold repeat sessions with mentees who return as their plans and questions develop.
  • This is guidance, mentoring or coaching. It does not include diagnosis or treatment.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrable experience as a practitioner in your industry, with a track record you can describe in detail.
  • A willingness to give time and candid perspective to people starting out or changing direction.
  • Good judgement about what can be shared, keeping confidential employer information private.
  • Clear, approachable communication with mentees from varied academic and professional backgrounds.
  • Readiness to complete HappinessCue's onboarding and verification. Engagement terms are shared during onboarding.

Good to have

  • Previous experience mentoring interns, graduates or junior colleagues.
  • Experience across more than one organisation or function within your industry.
  • Involvement in industry associations, guest lectures or campus engagement programmes.
