About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Features Writer to produce longer, well-researched stories that go beyond the news. You will find ideas, interview people, check every detail and shape pieces readers want to finish. Depth and structure matter more here than speed.
What you'll do
- Pitch feature ideas with a clear angle and a strong reason to read now.
- Research in depth using interviews, documents and data before drafting.
- Conduct interviews and capture quotes accurately, with notes or recordings.
- Write and structure long-form pieces with strong openings and narrative flow.
- Fact-check thoroughly and work with editors through each round of revisions.
- Prepare features for digital publishing with headlines, images and summaries.
What you'll bring
- 1–4 years of experience in features writing, reporting or long-form journalism.
- A graduate degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Media Studies or a related discipline.
- Excellent storytelling and the ability to structure long pieces clearly.
- Strong interviewing and research abilities with a range of sources.
- Rigorous fact-checking habits applied to every claim in a piece.
Good to have
- Exposure to multimedia storytelling that combines text, images and video.
- Familiarity with data-led features that use simple charts or tables.
- A portfolio of published features you can share.
