About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Head – E-commerce Business to direct online retail sales and operations. You will set performance standards, head the teams that serve customers and drive sales, and run the online business with the discipline of a well-managed retail operation.
What you'll do
- Direct online retail operations end to end, from assortment and availability to delivery and customer service.
- Set sales objectives for the e-commerce business and hold the responsible teams to them.
- Build a performance management framework with clear metrics, regular reviews and honest feedback.
- Champion customer experience, using complaints, reviews and service data to drive operational fixes.
- Develop managers within the team and plan succession for business-critical roles.
- Work with senior stakeholders across retail, finance and supply chain to align online and store priorities.
What you'll bring
- 11–16 years of experience in retail or e-commerce, with senior responsibility for operations and sales.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Proven team leadership and a strong record in performance management.
- A sound understanding of retail operations and of what keeps customers satisfied.
- Confidence presenting plans and results to senior leadership.
Good to have
- Prior experience with a retailer that sells through both stores and online channels.
- Exposure to marketplace selling alongside an owned e-commerce website.
- Familiarity with retail analytics and structured customer feedback programmes.
