Head – Events

About the role

One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Head – Events to own the events business end to end, from strategy and client relationships to profit and loss. You will decide where the function focuses, guide senior clients and build a team that delivers reliably. This is a leadership role with direct accountability for commercial results.

What you'll do

• Shape the events strategy, choosing the formats, client segments and priorities the business pursues.
• Own the events P&L, watching margins closely and correcting course when projects drift from plan.
• Lead relationships with senior client stakeholders and step in personally on the most significant engagements.
• Build the team's structure, hiring and capability so delivery never depends on a few individuals.
• Run annual and quarterly business planning, setting objectives the events team can act on.
• Establish review routines that keep pitch quality, delivery and client satisfaction visible to leadership.

What you'll bring

• 10–14 years of experience in events or experiential businesses, with significant leadership responsibility.
• A graduate degree or an MBA, backed by strong commercial and management understanding.
• Proven ownership of a P&L or a substantial events budget over several years.
• Credibility with senior clients and the ability to earn and keep their trust.
• Experience building and developing capable, accountable teams of event professionals.

Good to have

• Prior experience in the events and experiential sector across varied event formats.
• Exposure to pitching for and winning new client mandates against competition.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and forecasting for project-based businesses.
