About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Lead Education Counsellor to set the example for high-quality, ethical counselling. You will handle the most demanding student conversations, support fellow counsellors, and help shape how counselling is delivered.
What you'll do
- Counsel students and parents on complex choices, including those weighing several programmes.
- Act as the first point of support for counsellors who need advice on difficult cases.
- Run short refresher sessions on course knowledge and counselling technique.
- Review counselling notes to make sure guidance is accurate and consistent.
- Build relationships with schools and colleges through institutional outreach and joint sessions.
- Suggest improvements to scripts, materials and follow-up routines based on student feedback.
What you'll bring
- 4–8 years of experience in education counselling, with a strong record of guiding students well.
- A graduate degree or an MBA as your qualification.
- Excellent listening, explaining and relationship-building skills with students and families.
- The maturity to support peers and give honest feedback.
- Sound knowledge of courses, admission steps and common student concerns.
Good to have
- Prior experience in the EdTech sector in a senior counselling role.
- Exposure to mentoring new counsellors during their first months.
- Familiarity with presenting to student groups at schools and colleges.
