About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Senior Buyer – Luxury to select and secure the luxury products that define the offer. You will drive buying decisions, negotiate with vendors and protect margins while keeping the assortment desirable.
What you'll do
- Select luxury products for each season based on brand direction, client demand and sales history.
- Negotiate terms, pricing and delivery schedules with vendors and brand partners to protect margins.
- Build open-to-buy plans with merchandising and finance colleagues, and manage purchases within them.
- Review sell-through and margin performance, deciding on reorders, markdowns or exits.
- Mentor the buying team, setting standards for vendor communication and commercial analysis.
- Scout new products and emerging labels through vendor meetings and market research.
- Present buying strategy and results to senior stakeholders as part of business planning.
What you'll bring
- 8–12 years in buying, with significant experience in luxury or premium retail.
- An MBA or PGDM, with strong commercial and analytical foundations.
- Strong negotiation skills and well-established relationships with vendors.
- Sound financial understanding of margins, open-to-buy and inventory health.
- A refined product eye and a clear understanding of what luxury customers want.
Good to have
- Exposure to buying across several luxury categories rather than a single one.
- Familiarity with consignment and concession buying models used in luxury retail.
- Prior experience in the luxury retail sector during peak buying seasons.
