About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Senior Manager – Retail Business to own the strategy and results of a retail business. You will turn retail strategy into sales plans, lift store performance and lead the people who deliver it. It suits someone who enjoys being accountable for both the numbers and the direction.
What you'll do
- Shape the retail strategy, deciding where the business should focus across stores, categories and customer groups.
- Translate strategy into annual and quarterly business plans with clear sales and store performance measures.
- Review store performance regularly, identify stores that are falling behind and lead the plans that turn them around.
- Lead and develop managers across the retail team, building a habit of accountability for results.
- Manage key client and partner relationships that have a direct bearing on retail sales.
- Work with marketing, merchandising and supply teams to keep retail priorities aligned.
What you'll bring
- 8–12 years of experience in retail business management, with responsibility for sales and store performance.
- An MBA or PGDM, backed by hands-on accountability for a retail business.
- A strong command of retail strategy and business planning, from forecasting through to review.
- Experience guiding managers and building capable retail teams.
- Comfort presenting plans and results to senior stakeholders.
Good to have
- Prior experience in the retail or consumer sector.
- Exposure to running more than one retail format at the same time.
- Familiarity with store-level profitability analysis and capital allocation between stores.
