About the role

One of our prestigious clients is hiring a Senior Merchandise Planner to forecast demand and plan inventory for fashion ranges. You will balance stock investment against sell-through so the right product reaches stores at the right time. Accurate planning protects both sales and margins.

What you'll do

  • Build seasonal demand forecasts by category, using sales history, trends and planned launches.
  • Plan inventory levels and open-to-buy so stock investment matches expected demand.
  • Track sell-through weekly and recommend replenishment, markdowns or reallocation between stores.
  • Guide junior planners, reviewing their forecasts and building their analytical skills.
  • Work with buying and retail teams to align range depth and store allocations.
  • Contribute to business planning with clear views on stock risk and opportunity by category.

What you'll bring

  • 7–11 years of experience in merchandise planning, forecasting or inventory management for fashion or retail.
  • An MBA or PGDM, preferably with a quantitative or retail focus.
  • Strong forecasting and analytical skills, with a high level of comfort using spreadsheets.
  • A clear understanding of sell-through, stock cover and margin.
  • Experience managing or mentoring members of a planning team.

Good to have

  • Planning experience gained specifically in fashion, where seasons are short.
  • Exposure to markdown optimisation and end-of-season clearance planning.
  • Familiarity with allocation and replenishment systems used by multi-store retailers.
