About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring an Entertainment Writer to report and write on films, television, music and popular culture. You will research stories, interview people from the industry and publish accurate, engaging pieces for digital readers. Speed matters, but never at the cost of getting facts right.
What you'll do
- Report on entertainment news, releases and industry developments as they happen.
- Interview actors, musicians, creators and other industry voices.
- Write reviews, previews and explainers in a clear, readable voice.
- Fact-check claims, dates and quotes, especially on fast-moving stories.
- Publish stories digitally with headlines, images and links that suit readers.
- Pitch story ideas drawn from trends and audience interest.
- Build a network of publicists and industry contacts who trust your reporting.
What you'll bring
- 0–3 years of experience writing or reporting, ideally on entertainment topics.
- A graduate degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Media Studies or a related discipline.
- Strong writing skills and genuine knowledge of popular culture.
- Interviewing ability and a responsible approach to sources and rumours.
- Commitment to accuracy even when working to tight deadlines.
Good to have
- Exposure to video or social formats for entertainment stories.
- Familiarity with press screenings, junkets and media events.
- A portfolio of published entertainment writing or reviews.
