About the role
One of our prestigious clients is hiring a PR Executive to help get the right stories in front of the right journalists. This is an execution role for someone starting out in public relations who writes well and follows through.
What you'll do
- Research publications and reporters to build targeted lists for each round of press outreach.
- Write first drafts of press releases, pitches and short announcements for senior review.
- Send pitches, log every response and follow up with journalists at sensible intervals.
- Track and archive press coverage, noting tone and which key messages were carried.
- Help organise press meets and interviews by managing invitations, confirmations and briefing material.
- Scan the news each day for mentions and topics relevant to the brands you support.
What you'll bring
- 0–3 years of experience in PR, communications or media; freshers with internship experience are welcome.
- A graduate degree in PR, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a related subject.
- Good written communication with an eye for grammar and detail.
- A polite but persistent approach to following up with busy journalists.
- Willingness to learn how newsrooms and editors work.
Good to have
- An internship in a PR agency, newsroom or communications team.
- Familiarity with news cycles and how stories get picked up.
- Exposure to writing short posts and captions for social media platforms.
